C: Temperate. In this zone, there are typically warm and humid summers with thunderstorms and mild winters. These regions have warm to cool summers and very cold winters. E: Polar.

Climate Types for Kids
You cannot download interactives. Global temperatures and sea levels are rising, and possibly contributing to larger more devastating storms. Climate change is defined as gradual changes in all the interconnected weather elements on our planet over approximately 30 years. The data shows the Earth is warming and it's up to us to make the changes necessary for a healthier planet. The mid-latitude C and D climates are given a second letter, f no dry season , w winter dry , or s summer dry , and a third symbol a, b, c, or d [the last subclass exists only for D climates] , indicating the warmth of the summer or the coldness of the winter.
It also has been pointed out that factors other than those used in the classification, such as sunshine and wind , are important to vegetation.
